Hi, I’m Pauline Taylor an experienced HR professional (PgDip, MA & Chartered MCIPD).
I’ve many years experience of working as an HR professional on a permanent, interim and consultancy basis in a broad variety of sectors including Utilities, Engineering, Manufacturing, FMCG and Financial Services and I use the full range of my experience to give clients practical, pragmatic and effective advice and support.
Through my HR career I’ve found that the most effective way of helping someone and to improve services is to coach them rather than tell them what to do. This way they own the path they need to follow to resolve a problem.
For me good coaching is about effective questioning. By asking open ended questions coaching will encourage an individual to think more widely, identify what they know and examine whether what they know is in fact true. They can work out where they can find out the things they don’t know or that they need to know. They can identify what is really important to them (or in business what’s important to the customer) and consider a wide range of options before committing to and taking steps towards where they want to be.
